Abstract
The main purpose of this paper is to developappropriate construct to benchmark performances oflogistics companies so that deficiencies can be highlightedand possible strategies can be evolved to improve theperformances of the industry. The study applies dataenvelopment analysis (DEA) and Malmquist productivityindex (MPI) to explore the operation performances of 55Thai logistics companies from 2007 to 2010. The resultspoint out the reasons for the inefficient Decision MakingUnits (DMUs) and provide improving directions for theinefficient companies accordingly. The study provides asimple but comprehensive methodology for improvinglogistics competences. By comparing the efficiency oflogistics companies, this research contributes to find Thailogistics companies weaknesses in order to take effectivemeasures to improve the their level of input and output so asto improve their logistics efficiency.
