Abstract
This article proposes a design and development of the UV exposure machine for Printed Circuit Board(PCB) fabrication industry. This UV exposure machine can expose double sides simultaneously and has theexposure timing control and the lamp power control system. During the exposure time, the power of lamp willbe controlled at 2 kW. For energy saving and extend lamp life, the power of lamp will be reduced when usersregister the pattern film. It is suitable for two processes in the PCB fabrication, which are the dry film exposureprocess to create the copper circuit and the exposure process to generate the solder mask. All devices andequipment used in this machine can be bought from local market, so it gives us low cost in implementation andmaintenance. The experimental results are very satisfied for double side plated through hole PCB fabricationwith 5 mil (5/1000 inch) fine line and the biggest panel size of 18x24 sq.in. With UV lamp 2 kW/side, the dryfilm exposure time is only 11 sec./piece and the solder mask exposure time is 75 sec./piece. That is why this UVexposure machine is very practical for medium to large scale PCB industry.
