Abstract
Nowadays, garbage is one of the big issues that Thailand is currently facing. Due to the fact that Thaigarbage disposal system is still not fully efficient because Thailand has the disposal operation by using labor, instead of automatic garbage disposal car. By using labor intensive, it may result in injury or muscle fatigue dueto the road sweepers need to hold a sweeper and a trash holder containing wet trash or heavy weight of litter. This project, therefore, proposed an idea of how to research and develop a small garbage disposal car that cansweep garbage on the public road. By designing the car, it is essential to consider a concept of “Anthropometry”in which its data can be used as a reference for biomechanics’ study. This may include center of mass, center ofgravity, body links, width, length, body size for movement, weight, height, circumferences, etc. Considering thedata derived from a measurement of human anthropometry, this study is conducted to use the data for designinga seat, wheel hand, and pedal for the small garbage disposal car. Also, the research presented here considersmale and female’s anthropometry data that is at the 50th percentile representing the design for average. Thepurpose is to provide the information of how to design the optimum size of the garbage disposal car that can beused for both genders. The main objectives of this research are: (1) to develop the small garbage disposal carused for substituting labor content, (2) to conduct a comparative study between the small garbage disposal carand the sweeper and trash holder, and (3) to develop the small garbage disposal car with a low cost production.
