Abstract
Over the past few years, analysis of successfulmanufacturing companies shows that in today’s hypercompetitivebusiness environment, supply chainefficiency is a necessary condition for survival. However,as we approach an age of super efficiency, adaptivesupply chains, which are more flexible, responsive and reconfigurable, are replacing traditional supply chains.Adaptive supply chains possess the flexibility tocontinually sense and respond to the environment withoutcompromising on operational efficiencies. At the sametime, the EMS industry is characterized by fluctuatingcustomer demand, with increasing focus on fasterresponse times and delivery of products at optimal cost.EMS companies therefore need to evaluate their supplychains to adopt adaptive supply chains. For this reason, this research aims to provide a framework for measuringthe performance of adaptive supply chain in the context ofEMS (electronic manufacturer service) provider. Theframework model helps companies to measure andevaluate the performance of their adaptive supply chains. The proposed framework grounds on the methodology ofperformance measuring frameworks, applying to themeasurement of both tangible and intangible assets, andalso measuring supply chain performance internally andexternally.
