Abstract
The dramatic changes resulting from environmental forces may cause, or even require,a phase of organizational decline. Many organizations are declining because they havegotten out of sync with environmental forces. In this case, an organization needsto make some radical changes if it wishes to continue to operate. If decliningorganizations focus on strategy, top management, organization design, and corporate culture as the key factors for modification, they can transform themselves intoan excellent organization.
