Abstract
The ISO 26000 on Social Responsibility was officially launched as an International Standard in 2010, while the ASEAN Community with its ASEAN Action Plan on CSR Promotion will be established in 2015. These reflect the support for business organizations of many countries to integrate ISO 26000 into their business plan to ensure sustainable development within ASEAN countries.Organization leaders are thus playing a key role in integrating ISO 26000 into their vision, mission and policies. With these clear guidelines and framework, it is important for employees, organizations and stakeholders to recognize and fully understand and actively participate in social responsibility, along with the implementation plan of ISO 26000 Standards. Organization leaders should analyze the existing context of organizational culture in order to improve the effectiveness and to comply with the ISO 26000. Objectives and related strategies to implement social responsibility should be developed. Moreover, continual practice involving employees at every level is suggested to raise awareness of corporate social responsibility.
