Abstract
The concept of the value chain development is the management of each value chain process to add value or usefulness to the previous product. The value chain model consists of primary activities. The primary activities are inbound logistics, operations, outbound logistics, customer service, marketing and sales. The support activities are firm infrastructure, human resources management, technology development and procurement. Both primary and support activities are interlinked to support each other. The value chain development of rice products are part of the primary and support activities , starting with the initial activities (rice productivity development) such as rice planting management, rice productivity promotion, rice harvesting and rice quality inspection. The middle stage activities (the value added conversations) are developmental, the rice quality product development for export and rice logistics development of rice products, Lastly, the final activities (marketing system development) are the acceleration in rice product competitiveness and rice product promotion.
