Abstract
This article is aimed at explaining the legal status of State-Owned Enterprises (SOEs)in Thailand with the application of Thai competition laws, particularly by usingexamples of SOEs in the communications businesses. This is to explain specificallythat SOEs in the communications sector will be operating under competition lawswith no immunity, and to raise awareness that other SOEs, especially those already privatized, are also likely to be operating with no immunity under competition lawsaccording to similar considerations and interpretations from now on.
