Abstract
The objective of this research was to assess the efficiency of the supply chain andraw material procurement in the Plastic Recycle Manufacturing Industry. Datacollection was made from 2 sample plastic recycling manufacturers and theirsubsidiaries, consisting in all of 20 raw material suppliers and 10 customers. The datawas then analyzed to formulate a questionnaire based on the SCOR model in order toassess the efficiency of supply chain management by the Plastic RecycleManufacturing Industry. Findings from the research reveal that the efficiency level ofmanufacturers is low relative to the suppliers and customers. Raw material suppliesnormally come from a variety of suppliers without any commitment in quality. Moreover, manufacturers’ internal management still lacks adequate quality control ofthe raw material receiving process. Consequently, substantial defects of 14.07% arefound in the total production volume. However, after improvements to the receivingprocess quality control, the defects were considerably reduced to 6.62% of the totalproduction volume.
