Abstract
Due to the growth of technology, the current Copyright Act cannot be applied to theprotection of copyright on the Internet efficiently. In general, when the copyright ownerdisposes the goods under his right or with his consent, his right over the goods is exhaustedand the copyright owner has no right to control the transfereeƻs subsequent resale or othertransfer of title. This is called the Doctrine of Exhaustion of Rights, which cannot beapplied to the protection of copyright via the Internet. On the other hand, if the transfereeresells the copyrighted goods to others through the Internet, the said person might bedeemed as an infringer of copyright. This article, which focuses on the U.S. andThai law, includes the principles of copyright law and some legal aspects of copyrightvia the Internet. This article concludes that the principles of copyright laws of thesecountries are relatively similar; however, they might differ in the enforcement of law.
