Abstract
Human resource management, which is linked to the vision and strategies of theorganization, is an important factor which helps drive an organization to achieve itsaims. One approach to this important factor is to employ certain criteria in humanresource management processes, including selection criteria or performance appraisalcriteria in compliance with the vision and strategies of the organization, By doing so, newpersonnel will be made aware of what the organization emphasizes, and be informed asto what directions lead to organization success. Furthermore, proper criteria will leadto the quality of the human resource management processes, which further enhancesproper personnel decisions. Hence, criteria used in human resource managementprocesses are a significant key to organization success. This article aims to provideknowledge and understanding about criteria used by an organizationûs human resourcemanagement. It covers the issues of definition and objectives, types, criteria development,and the importance of criteria and problems.
