Abstract
LDNST (Logistical Distribution Network SimulationTool) has been modeled and developed to assist ofstudying the alternative stocking locations , distributionstrategies, and the daily routing schedule in a food supplychain . The model represents the distribution network of aGerman food producer. The company produces thousandsof product types and serving a lot of distribution centersin Germany and Europe. This paper describes the specificlogic details of the developed simulation tool along withits effectiveness in comparing distribution strategies forlocating inventory and minimizing total logistic costswithin the supply chain levels.One of the main objectives of this paper was to presentthe design and development steps of a real life supplychain simulation model of a German food supply chainfirm, which will used in assisting the logistics supplychain managers in evaluating the distribution supply chainperformance measures. Therefore, some theoretical andpractical operational modeling logics have beenconsidered in the developing the Logistical DistributionNetwork Simulation Tool (LDNST) according to aconceptual supply chain framework was developed beforeutilizing the SCOR level 1 and 2 and The use case map(UCM) notation method.
