Abstract
Environmental problems have received global attention for a long time, however, thesituation continues to worsen. The main cause is increased over consumption and anexpanding global population. This means that the demand for products and servicesare rising, which drives increased industrial production, followed by marketing activitiesand of course, increasing environmental problems. Because of such a situation, anindividual should take more responsibility for his/her consumption. People can showtheir individual responsibility concerning consumption by 1) understanding theeconomic situation in which we live, and 2) acting on it in the pattern of sustainableconsumption. People can change their habits into a sustainable consumption lifestyleby following the 7 green habits: Rethink, Reduce, Reuse, Recycle, Recondition, Refuseand Return. These should be acted upon immediately and continuously, with theanticipation that finally we can make a better world.
