Abstract
This paper is the result of a study of students' financial discipline at the School of Science and Technology, University of the Thai Chamber of Commerce. The study concludes that 56.49 percent of the students are familiar with the concept of personal financial planning and 52.78 percent are able to use their personal income to cover monthly expenditures. Eighty percent of the students do financial planning and 71.75 percent invest in bank deposits. The study of recording expenses finds that 45.77 percent of females record expenses, while 33.99 percent of males record expenses. For credit card-using students, 53.92 percent of them record expenses, while only 35.99 percent of non-credit card-using students record expenses. The hypothesis testing finds that gender correlates significantly with expense recording as well as credit card-using students. However, monthly expenditure management does not correlate with expense recording. Most of the students have a positive perspective toward personal financial planning and the importance of financial discipline.
