Abstract
Employment of child labor is allowed under international practice, which harmonizes the two Conventions of the International Labor Organization. One convention is the Minimum Age Convention 1973. Another is the Worst Forms of Child Labor convention 1999. It is a fact that currently Thailand applies the principle of Child labor employment according to the principles of the Minimum Age Convention 1973 and the Worst Forms of Child Labor Convention 1999 in the terms of the Labor Protection Act 1998. However, in practice, it was found that there are still many employers who violate the rules of child labor employment in the law. Thus, the Thai government should not delay to f ind appropriate solutions for child labor problems, with the elimination of the illegal employment of child labor as the final objective.
