Abstract
In the world of intense business competition, a well-managed firm can capture theadvantage if it can satisfy customer’s needs based on high efficiency and low costs. However, the issue of environmental protection has recently emerged as a majorconcern for social responsibility. Hence, the green supply chain concept also followsthe trend, representing a paradigm shift to gain the upper hand over future businesscompetition as part of a sustainability development program.In general, the green supply chain comprises1. Green Design Revision responding to environmental concerns2. Green Purchasing for selection/procurement of raw material3. Green Manufacturing by using clean technology production and reduction ofprocess waste4. Green Distribution by having efficient transportation for cost and pollution reduction5. Green Consumption for clear and thorough communication of product use forcustomer understanding, and6. Reverse Logistics for improved product utilization and pollution reduction in society.
