Abstract
This paper describes the mathematical procedure for the generalized equations onthe power losses reduction with the shunt capacitor on the feeder circuit in anydistribution systems which have different representative reactive load patterns,e.g. uniformly distributed reactive loads, concentrated reactive loads, or a combinationof uniformly distributed and concentrated reactive loads. The generalized equations arederived to receive the optimum shunt capacitor location, size and power lossesreduction for each of the representative reactive load patterns by using computer aidanalysis.
