Abstract
Targeting at assemble to order production pattern informulating supply chain systems, this article focuses onthe relationship of make/outsourcing to construct optimalmodels relevant with cost effectiveness in solving theproblems of insufficient analysis on systematic analysis ofsupply chain models. Factors considered in the designatedmodels are material preparation for outsourcing firms, technological transition, quality, lead time, and theirinteractions. Taking capacity planning and productrequirements into account with multi-stage planning interms of connecting make/outsourcing firms as modelformulation basis, this work consist of variouscomponents such as cost, quality, and effectiveness inform of decision alternatives to construct model criteria.Related cost components at establishing supply chainsystems with assemble to order production pattern such asmaterial preparation for outsourcing firms,make/outsourcing decisions, quality, and operationslimitations are mathematically formulated as variousoptions in the model according to the facts of costbehavior. Since the model developed in this workembodies a function of evaluating cost minimization andaccommodates the components of lead time, quality, andresponsiveness, the research results either applicationoutcomes or analysis methodology provide decisioncriteria for manufacturing business and creates a newspaces for academic research.
