Abstract: Sustainable development in the industry requires careful and thorough considerationas a social responsibility as well as the production process with emphasis onenvironmental concerns. The continuous path to sustainable industrial developmentcomprises the following strategies: (1) pollution prevention in the production process, (2)socially responsible product stewardship from the design phase to application withinan environmentally-friendly policy, and (3) the implementation of clean technology for production improvement and cost reduction. The implementation of such strategiesessentially requires a vision for sustainability and relentless effort to push it through alllevels, which together can be regarded as a road map for sustainable development inany organization.
