Abstract: This article concerns poverty and poverty-solutions at the community level by enhancingthe potential for people in the community to reach their own solutions based on theintegral approach and relevant to a Thai context. People Research and Development(PR&) is the research and development methodology derived from experience of theThailand Village Foundation in rural development over more than 20 years. The paradigmof development is shifted from the developing of people by outsiders to research anddevelopment by the people themselves; through local wisdom, social capital, and networkorganizations. The essence of PR& is to activate the learning process and knowledgemanagement within the community, liberating people by exchanging dependency forself-reliance and strengthening people organizations and networks.
